AIG cuts aggregate cat reinsurance cover by 18% to $2.05bn

AIG bought $2.05bn in aggregate property catastrophe reinsurance cover for 2021, an 18% drop compared to 2020, according to its annual report.

Some of the company’s per occurrence regional reinsurance deals were also lower this year. AIG bought $1.275bn of per occurrence reinsurance for its US and Caribbean personal lines business, down 16% from $1.525bn
