Florida insurers have again lifted their use of the state-backed reinsurance provided by the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (FHCF) ahead of a challenging reinsurance renewal.

Because many carriers had already maxed-out their participation in the scheme after facing reinsurance rate hikes in past years, the overall impact on private reinsurance demand will be minor.
