Hot demand sees cat bond sponsors push pricing bounds in Q1

New cat bond issuance reached $2.8bn for the first quarter, as investor demand resulted in prices falling during the marketing process by the fastest rate since Q2 2018.

Volumes were the third-highest for a first quarter in the past five years, falling well short of last year's $4bn total, according to Trading Risk figures.
