Liberty Mutual Re (LM Re) has appointed Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) executive underwriting officer Peter Smith as executive vice president and managing director, effective immediately.

He will be based in London and report to LM Re president Dieter Winkel. In his role, Smith will oversee LM Re’s global portfolio.
