Travelers goes through nearly half of aggregate cat retention during Q1

Travelers, as at the end of the first quarter, has already blown through 48% of its aggregate catastrophe reinsurance deductible, the insurer revealed on its earnings call.

During the period, it has accumulated $915mn of qualifying losses toward the aggregate retention, which triggers in excess $1.9bn.
