Swiss Re: Global GDP to fall 18% by 2050 without climate action

Global gross domestic product (GDP) will contract 18% by 2050 if no action is taken to mitigate global warming, according to Swiss Re’s new Climate Economics Index.

The carrier said if some mitigating actions are taken, resulting in a 2.6°C global temperature increase, GDP will contract by 14% over the next three decades.
