Guy Carpenter has initiated legal proceedings against Howden and five individuals over a mass walkout of staff led by vice chairman of the global specialties arm Bradley Maltese.

The reinsurance broker is looking to recover over £10mn ($13.8mn) and secure an injunction to facilitate the return of thousands of pages of confidential information it alleges were knowingly misappropriated, according to court documents.
