Everest Re’s John Doucette has stepped down from his role as CEO of the reinsurance business, and will be replaced by the company’s chief operating officer, Jim Williamson, the reinsurer announced Monday.

In a statement, Everest said Doucette was leaving the company to pursue “other opportunities”. Doucette had led the reinsurance business since 2016 and was previously the division’s chief underwriting officer.
