Aon-Willis say DoJ suit reflects ‘lack of understanding of our business’

Aon and Willis Towers Watson have fired back at the US Department of Justice (DoJ), saying in a joint statement on Wednesday that the DoJ’s decision to block their pending merger reflected a “lack of understanding” of their business, while also citing the progress the firms had made with regulators in other jurisdictions.

“We disagree with the US Department of Justice’s action, which reflects a lack of understanding of our business, the clients we serve and the marketplaces in which we operate,” the companies said.
