Suncorp reaffirms $162mn BI loss expectations after ICA appeal rejected

Australian carrier Suncorp does not expect additional BI losses as a result of the Australian High Court decision last week to reject an appeal from the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) in a BI insurance test case.

Suncorp has previously disclosed that it has made provisions for A$214mn ($162mn) of BI claims resulting from the pandemic, and it does not expect the ruling to change this figure.
