GC retro team set to pick up Johns among new hires

Guy Carpenter is set to add two brokers to its retro team – market veteran James Johns, who was most recently at Willis Re, and Josh O’Donoghue who recently left Aon, sources said.

The hires come at a time of considerable turnover in the retro business and reinsurance broking more generally, with the uncertainty over the Aon-Willis merger set to prolong this phase of competition for talent.
