The Ardonagh Group is to launch a reinsurance unit dubbed Inver Re, following the closure of its acquisition of Corant Global.

The expansive intermediary group struck a deal to buy Corant Global from BGC Partners for $500mn last month, in a move that will create the largest independent specialty and wholesale broking business in London.
