AM Best highlights impact of ESG on ratings decisions

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors were the primary driver in 13% of ratings actions in the year to the end of March, according to AM Best.

The ratings agency said the vast majority of ESG-driven ratings actions took place in the US, which accounted for almost three-quarters of cases, with the remaining 15% in Europe and 13% in Asia Pacific.
