Ida makes landfall as strong Cat 4 storm after rapid intensification

Hurricane Ida has made landfall on the Louisiana coastline near Port Fourchon as a strong Cat 4 hurricane with winds of 150 mph (240 kph) after rapidly intensifying overnight, although the degree of impact on the insurance sector will still turn heavily on the degree of damage to metro centers.
