The devastating flood damage to the northeast as a result of Hurricane Ida’s final sweep over the US will change the final shape of industry losses from the storm, with commercial lines and auto writers bracing for claims.

Market participants expected the northeast insured component of the loss to at least reach into the low billions, although this early on, there are few solid data estimates emerging.
