Global reinsurance capital up 4% during H1 to $688bn: Willis Re

Global reinsurance capital increased by 4% during H1 2021 to $688bn, according to Willis Re, as reinsurers’ underwriting results and return on equity (RoE) improved.

In its latest Reinsurance Market Report, which tracks an index of companies representing 80% of the industry’s capital, Willis Re said the sector’s capital increased by 5% over the period, mainly due to strong level of net income.
