The surge in the frequency and severity of nat cat claims and cyber incidents is driving the need for insurance protection, which Swiss Re believes will push non-life insurance premiums to more than $7tn in 2022.

Swiss Re said that, if the figure were achieved, it would be the first time global premiums had exceeded $7tn.
