RMS pegs Hurricane Nicholas losses within $1.1bn to $2.2bn range

Cat modelling vendor RMS has estimated insured losses from Hurricane Nicholas will be between $1.1bn and $2.2bn, a range that includes claims stemming from wind, storm surge and flooding damage, along with losses to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

Nicholas made landfall last Tuesday near Sargent Beach, Texas, as a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 km/h).
