Institutional investors grow share of ILS market in 2021: Aon Securities

Aon Securities has said institutional investors played an increasing role in the cat bond market in the year to 30 June, as specialist ILS funds also raised significant capital in that period, and as it noted an uptick in sidecar and ILW activity.

The broker estimated in its ILS annual report that institutional investors bought 16% of all new cat bond issuances it brought to market in the year to 30 June, versus 11% the prior year.
