Suncorp leaves BI provisions unchanged following ruling

Australia-based insurer Suncorp has left its provisions for potential Covid-19 BI claims unchanged at A$211mn ($155mn) following the Australian federal court’s decision in a landmark case last week.

Suncorp said that although the appeals process was still pending, with time set aside in the second week of November 2021 to hear any appeals, it has been “a positive judgment for insurers”.
