NOAA finds US hit by 18 disasters totaling $1bn or more so far in 2021

From hailstorms in the Ohio Valley to wildfires ripping through Western states, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) found the US has been hit by 18 $1bn disasters through September, including four that struck last month.

NOAA’s September Climate Report found that the average temperature across the country for the month was 67.8 degrees, 3 degrees above the 20th century average.
