Allstate lowers estimated reinsurance recoveries for Ida, but total tallies $1bn

Allstate has said it will recover $986mn of Q3 cat losses from its reinsurance providers, of which $689mn is connected to claims from Hurricane Ida.

The carrier revised its projected Ida gross loss to $1.5bn versus $1.4bn predicted in mid-September, but projected reinsurance recoveries connected to the storm have dropped to $689mn from $769mn in mid-September.
