Zurich exhausts global aggregate cat cover after Q3 losses

Zurich has exhausted its $450mn aggregate reinsurance cover after booking around $450mn in losses from Hurricane Ida and $150mn-$200mn from Storm Bernd.

On a call to discuss the carrier’s Q3 earnings today, CFO George Quinn confirmed Zurich’s global aggregate cat treaty was exhausted but its regional protections were “currently untouched”.
