The board of Citizens Property Insurance recommended across-the-board rate increases of up to 12% – the statutory limit – as members expressed concern over the continued growth of Florida’s state-backed insurer of last resort.

The recommendations, for a statewide increase of 11% for policies renewing between August 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022, and 12% for policies renewing after January 1, 2023.
