Almost 1,000 homes have been destroyed by the fires that swept through the Boulder County area of Colorado last week, with the blazes now largely extinguished.

A total of 991 buildings, mostly homes, were destroyed by the fires. However, some businesses were also burned, including a shopping centre in Louisville and several retail outlets.
