Analysts have predicted further reinsurance rate hardening through 2022 following this year’s round of renewals, driven by continued concerns around a shortage of retro capacity, social inflation and 2021 losses.

A trio of analysts were generally positive on their outlook for reinsurers as they said the renewals should boost performance, despite the potential offsetting factors.
