RenRe raises $453mn third-party capital at 1.1

RenaissanceRe said it raised $453mn of third-party capital at 1 January and put a further $210mn of its own capital into its Capital Partners business, as its flagship DaVinci Re sidecar returned to profit in the fourth quarter.

This came in 24% below the $599mn of third-party capital raised for the 1 January renewals a year earlier, when the carrier put in $131mn to the Capital Partners vehicles, reflecting this year’s more challenging fundraising environment.
