QBE Re has appointed Melanie Lopes from SiriusPoint as lead treaty underwriter in its expanding Bermuda office.

She will assume the role of assistant vice president, reporting to head of P&C in Bermuda David Cary.

Prior to working at SiriusPoint, Lopes held positions at Third Point Re and Allied World.
