Upsilon 1.1 fundraise came in under $100mn

RenaissanceRe raised $89mn for its high-risk Upsilon fund at 1 January, representing just under 20% of the funding it had in place a year earlier, according to its 10k annual filing.

The $89mn 1 January fundraise included a $10mn investment from RenRe itself.

A year earlier, the reinsurer had brought on $470mn of fresh funds, including $32mn of its own capital, through Upsilon.
