Hannover Re and Scor’s renewals reports have provided an insight into two very different approaches to property cat business, after large losses and concerns around climate change have raised questions about the viability of cat business during 2021.

Hannover Re has judged that the time is ripe to take advantage of cat rate rises, writing 25% more cat premium at 1 January.
