Southeast Queensland and NSW flood claims surpass A$1bn

Claims arising from the flooding that struck Southeast Queensland and New South Wales (NSW) in Australia this week have now topped A$1bn ($740mn), according to the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA).

In an update today, the ICA said claims had received 67,537 claims so far, a 12% increase on yesterday’s figure, which indicates that claims are now slowing.
