Australia declares flood emergency as claims jump 11% in one day

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has said insurers have received nearly 107,844 claims relating to the Southeast Queensland and New South Wales floods.

This is an 11% increase on yesterday’s numbers, which saw 96,844 claims registered to date.
