ICA puts Australian flood losses above A$2bn

Insurers have now received A$2.04bn ($1.5bn) of claims in connection with the Southeast Queensland and New South Wales (NSW) floods, the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) said.

Over the weekend, the claims count from NSW rose by 12%, it added in statements on Twitter.

This took the total claims received to 135,697, in total a 7% increase on Friday’s figures.
