Florida legislature may hold special session for stalled homeowner reforms

Insurance reform in Florida is in limbo after the state’s legislative session ended without passage of a bill that aimed to create a new deductible for roof-damage claims and reduce the policy count at the state’s insurer of last resort, Citizens Property Insurance Corp.

The Florida Senate passed a bill last week but didn’t have time to review the amended legislation that passed the state’s House of Representatives, as the legislature’s 60-day session wound down.
