RenRe raises $147mn for Medici cat bond fund as DaVinci hit by investment losses

RenaissanceRe said it raised $147mn for its Medici cat bond fund after the end of Q1, including $10mn from the company, as it posted improved underwriting results and an investment downturn at its flagship DaVinci Re sidecar.

It also appeared to have raised further third-party funds in Q1, as third-party capital raised in the quarter reached $576.6mn,
