S&P drops rating mapping proposals after DoJ warning

S&P Global Ratings has withdrawn parts of proposed new criteria for its insurer ratings methodology that surrounded how it would treat ratings of other agencies, following a warning from the US Department of Justice (DoJ).

In December, S&P published a request for comment on proposed changes to its risk-based capital adequacy methodology, which had various implications including more remote stress tests on catastrophe exposure.
