Oz flood losses rise 28% in a month to hit A$4.3bn

Insured losses from this year’s Australian floods have racked up to A$4.3bn ($3.1bn), making it the country’s fourth-costliest catastrophe on record, the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has said.

The claims count has risen to 216,465 from policyholders in south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales, the two states struck by the flooding between 23 February and 8 March.
