Louisiana Citizens buys extra hurricane reinsurance to cover cancelled policies

The Louisiana Department of Insurance has purchased additional reinsurance cover that will provide an extra 60 days’ grace to Lighthouse Excalibur, Maison and Southern Fidelity policyholders whose policies are due to be cancelled.

All 29,000 of Lighthouse Excalibur policies were slated for cancellation tomorrow, 22 June, but that deadline has now been extended to 30 June.
