ILS index returns to positive territory in May as mark-to-market losses continue

The average ILS fund was up by 0.05% in May, taking year-to-date gains to 0.41%, as cat bond writedowns continued to dampen performance, the Eurekahedge ILS Advisers Index showed.

The small monthly gain reverses what was initially reported as an 0.04% fall in April, although the index provider has subsequently revised the prior month performance to flat as final data emerged.
