Hale Group has taken majority ownership of Monarch, with FedNat holding a minority interest, as the firm said it had secured “appropriate and responsible” reinsurance protection for the hurricane season.

Funds managed by Hale have invested $15mn in Monarch, in a deal announced in May. FedNat will maintain representation on the board.
