Prospero Re transfer to new rated model “exceeded expectations” in 2021: Kroll

Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) has affirmed Prospero Re’s insurance financial strength rating (IFSR) of A, with a stable outlook, saying that the execution of the transfer to its rated balance sheet in 2021 “exceeded initial expectations".

It also discussed the firm’s underwriting results, with accident-year results stabilising but calendar-year results taking prior-year deterioration, and exposure to Ukraine war claims.
