TSR lowers hurricane and typhoon activity forecast

Tropical Storm Risk (TSR) has lowered its hurricane and typhoon activity forecasts for 2022, estimating that the former will be slightly above the 1991-2020 30-year norm, and the latter 35% lower by the same measure.

The hurricane outlook has “significant uncertainties”, while the typhoon prediction carries more confidence than is usual at this range.
