Mitsui Sumitomo confirms Transverse acquisition

Mitsui Sumitomo has confirmed that it has agreed to acquire US hybrid fronting carrier Transverse Insurance Group, after reports of the deal emerged earlier this week.

The Japanese carrier said the deal marks a significant step towards expansion in the US, as well as widen its access to MGA, wholesale and other broker-led distribution channels for property, casualty, marine and specialty business.
