Legacy firm Fleming Re targets variable duration deals as casualty ILS differentiator

Fleming Re, which has hired Samir Khare as head of casualty ILS solutions, believes its differentiator in the nascent casualty ILS space is in offering products that allow investors to participate and exit at different stages in the development tail of a product.

Fleming Re is exploring options for new legacy ILS offerings, including potentially a new ILS fund, after it was acquired by Altamont Capital Partners, which committed $150mn in growth capital to the firm in May.
