Allstate posts July cat loss of $233mn from 12 mostly wind, hail events

Allstate estimated its cat loss for July at $233mn covering 12 events, which were primarily wind and hail, and geographically widespread.

The July number was $223mn when taking account of favorable reserve re-estimates for prior period events, the company said.
