Moody’s has downgraded the insurance financial strength rating of Peak Re from A3 to Baa1, at the same time changing the outlook for the company to negative.

The move comes after Moody’s placed the reinsurer under review in mid-June, prompting increased scrutiny from cedant and broker partners.
