Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis has said he wants to call a special session on property insurance market reform in December, and has extended a property tax deadline for homeowners following Hurricane Ian, as he seeks re-election on 8 November.

Speaking yesterday at Fort Myers, Florida, DeSantis said the special session would also allow for appropriations so that funds could be funnelled to services where they were needed.
