Conduit Re sees a major opportunity to deploy capital at 1 January as cedants struggle to access ample capacity, according to CEO Trevor Carvey.

The executive said that capacity was withdrawing from the property cat space at the same time as cedants were looking to buy more coverage because of inflation, creating space for Conduit to step into the gap.
