RMS pegs US private insured losses from Hurricane Nicole at $1.6bn

RMS has estimated that total private market US insured losses from Hurricane Nicole will be less than $2bn, with its best estimate at $1.6bn, and that additional losses to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) will come in under $300mn.

The modeller estimated privately insured wind and storm surge losses of $1.2bn to $1.8bn from the cat event, with inland flooding losses of below $100mn.
