Florida’s House of Representatives is to call for a federal catastrophe pool to be set up, according to a memo slated to be heard at this week’s special legislative session.

The memo cites the country’s history of nat cat disasters, from hurricanes to tornadoes, floods, wildfires, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, and a rise in related homeowner losses, which it links to a climate-change-driven rise in event frequency.
